My mom completed her journey today at 2:20 PM. She had clothed herself with the cloak of Alzheimer’s and slowly disappeared from view. She was women of tenacity and strength, it was an honor to have shared 62 years of my life with her. She taught me honesty, hard work and kindness. She gave her heart to God and never wavered in her commitment. She was one of those, who gave Christianity a good name. She demonstrating love for God first, love for others second and love of personal gain last. From her I learned that spiritual health is your first priority, if that’s preserved, all else will fall into place. I was not always the best student, son or even a person, but she never condemned, withheld love or doubted the power of prayer. I know that her mentoring, unconditional love and constant belief that God would win me over is why I sit here filled with peace, hope and love. Although our beliefs are not identical, she introduced me to the creator of all things and the source of unconditional love. What more could one ask of a mother. We will meet again and together we will celebrate. I’m happy for her, she is free and celebrating now. Thank you mom, for your life.
