Morning Meds 6 16 19
Happy father’s day to all.
I want to thank my two boys for saving my life.
33 years ago my life had reached a turning point.
I could continue to let alcoholism destroy my life or I could try to change.
The determining fact that tipped the scale was the realization that if I didn’t change, at some point, I would end up causing enough grief that I would lose the loves of my life.
Them not in my life I knew would be more than I could bear.
I want to thank you both for our adventure.
It’s a standing joke, that they where raised by a crazy man, yet inspite of that and often on their own, they are two sons that no one could be more proud of.
They make a father proud.
I meditate sometimes and this morning I became aware of the fact that, through our many years together now, I could not think of a time either of them wronged me.
We had disagreements and power struggles, but I was never wronged.
Thank you for allowing me to experience fatherhood through you.
With love and gratitude, thank you for sharing your lives with me.
