Our Core of Consciousness

Morning Meds; 11 8 18

Our dualistic world with its negativity can shake us to our core, but our core is rock solid.

It is our eternal connection to the Creator of All Things.

We can wrap our soul around it and hang on till the wave has past,

always knowing that no matter what, we are one.

Morning Mantra

Morning Meds; 11 7 19

Morning mantra.

With the rising of the sun, I don’t have to believe the opinions I had about myself yesterday. Each day a new beginning.

……………………………………..

I saw my mind, a giant piano and every thought a key.

Every thought I thought each day

was a note played by me.

I heard that same old tune,

a song stuck in my head.

I thought I could make a better sound,

something soothing and happy instead.

I played the notes of gratitude and

pressed the chord of love.

I felt my days begin to change,

I heard applause from above.

……………

Pretty corny but it was fun.

Play a good song today.

Continually Gifted

Morning Meds ; 11 7 21

We just need enough discipline to find the silence.

You have to go to the kitchen if you wish to eat.

It seems, all that is really asked of us, is that we learn to relax and listen.

When we leave this world we will realize we’ve earned nothing here, everything was just continually gifted to us.

Our Fruits

Morning Meds; 11 7 18

We are not our feelings; they are the fruits of what we believe.

We are not our beliefs, they, in all their varying stages of development, are the fruits of what we’ve been taught.

The who and what we are, the I Am, we are, waits to be recognized beneath these two facades.

Dream, Visiting Crane

Morning Meds 11 6 21

This a dream from the dream page.

A gray crane gifted me with its presence this morning.

It came into my dreamscape, moments before I awoke.

It stood beneath the bows of a huge cypress tree, its silhouette framed against a morning sky.

The crane and the cypress surrounded by a shimmering silver lake.

…..

I refer to these single picture dreams as snapshot dreams. Often, they provide more information than the more complex ones. In meditation, I wait for the morning fog to lift and the flurry of thoughts to pass. When the silence thickens, I can inject the images of the dream, in this case the crane.

It was as if it spread its wings and rose above the water.

It’s wings gripping the air, pulling itself higher in long slow strokes.

Following the wings, my breath fell into rhythm with their beating.

The falling wings became my exhale and their upwards sweeps my inhalations.

Together we rose as one as if my spirit had slid inside.

I knew below us a storm was raging, yet there was peace above it.

Everything faded to darkness and as we journeyed on together…

It has become one of my favorite meditation techniques to quite my mind.

You can also imagine yourself a manta ray swimming in the black sea of consciousness.

The gift of a dream is always worth the time it takes to meditate on it.

Already Home

Morning Meds; 11 6 19

We often view our spiritual development as a journey.

We climb mountains, cross barriers, overcome adversity.

We are continually searching for the path to whatever we believe the finish line to be.

Another view is that we have never been separated, we are one with the Source of All and all the drama is just a tremendous dream.

I lean strongly toward the latter, but both seem plausible.

Well, there is a way it could be both, possible the only thing wandering is our awareness, and all the drama is just the process of regaining our memory and focus.

We are on an elaborate journey of recovery from spiritual amnesia, while all the while we are resting comfortably at the elusive finish line.

To me the finish line would be centered in the heart of the Source of All.

Who knows?

I have found that when my awareness is centered on the belief that I’m completely safe within the heart of the Source of All, I always feel most at home.

Enjoy the trip.

Reactions

Morning Meds; 11 6 18

When some of my old familiar reactions start reappearing, my familiar reaction is to dig in and fight, but I’ve found that a steady attempt to send love and acceptance toward them, brings much better results.

We learn to accept and love others by practicing on ourselves.

Self criticism and anger will bring more of the same, love will always bring love.
