Doling Out Punishment

Morning Meds; 6 17 20

If we were raised to believe that the guilty should always be punished, then learning to forgive others and more importantly ourselves just might be the most beneficial spiritual lesson we ever learn.

In the pursuit of imagined justice, we can easily become our own worst enemy, doling out punishment as we attempt to fulfill our obligations of guilt.

Learn to love yourself and your world will resonate with love.

Our inner core is the essence of unconditional love.

Go within and be renewed.

Father’s Day 2019

Morning Meds 6 16 19

Happy Father’s Day to all.

I want to thank my two boys for saving my life.

33 years ago, my life had reached a turning point.

I could either continue to let alcoholism destroy my life or I could try to change.

The determining fact that tipped the scale was the realization that if I didn’t change, at some point, I would end up causing enough grief that I would lose the loves of my life.

I knew that my two sons absent from my would be more than I could bear.

I want to thank you both for our adventure.

It’s a standing joke, that they were raised by a crazy man, yet in spite of that and often on their own, they are two sons that no one could be prouder of.

They make a father proud.

I meditate sometimes and this morning I became aware of the fact that, through our many years together now, I could not think of a time either of them wronged me.

We had disagreements and power struggles, but I was never wronged.

Thank you for allowing me to experience fatherhood through you.

With love and gratitude, thank you for sharing your lives with me.

Steppingstones of Illusion

Morning Meds; 6 15 20

We step from illusion to illusion,

each illusion another imagined steppingstone

floating in a sea of black.

A living universe lights around us with each step,

second by second,

day by day,

lifetime by lifetime.

Illusions fades as realization seeps out from within us,

reshaping our creations with its essence.

Realization, that as conscious particles of energy

our greatest skill

is our ability to create believable illusions.

The joy that what we thought was true

is as changeable as a mist in the wind.

It causes us to laugh at how miraculous our existence truly is

and to smile

as we watch a new steppingstone of experiences

form beneath our imagined foot.

Lured Away

Morning Meds; 6 14 20

Don’t let the world chaos lure you to the other side.

The things that trouble me the most and I hope others, are actions devoid of compassion.

Including.

The lack of medical help for the mentally challenged, the homeless, the less financially blessed.

Our blue gem of a planet and its demise by human expansion.

Nature being seen as something to be dominated instead of cooperated with and preserved.

Lack of inclusion of and for all races and the inability to see equality.

The intolerance of others spiritual beliefs and the religious justifications to harm others by any or all groups.

Humanity’s tendency to hoard instead of share.

Competition without compassion.

The innocent being captured for the greed of another.

With that being said.

Don’t let the world chaos lure you to the other side.

In the name of preserving, I could choose to destroy.

In the name of equality, I could choose to discriminate.

In the name of peace, I could choose war.

To save a life, I could choose to take a life.

In the pursuit of love, I could choose to hate.

Don’t let yourself be tricked by the chaos of the world.

Compassion can’t be legislated.

Force cannot procure mercy.

Violence only breeds violence.

The chaos we are experiencing can only be changed by a change of heart.

If what you/I am feeling is hate, then we/I have moved to the other side.

We have joined forces with chaos no matter what logic or justification we have invented to appease ourselves.

Christ, one of mankind’s greatest teachers, taught.

Do good to those who harm you.

Those who live by the sword, die by the sword.

Turn the other cheek.

Neither do I accuse you.

If you are asked to carry a pack a mile, carry it two.

Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s.

The meek shall inherit the earth.

These seem to be the forgotten teaching of Christ, taught before his teachings were weaponized by political and social self interest groups.

They were not meant to be slogans to finance wars.

Christ knew that only love could bring peace.

He taught inclusion and forgiveness rather than an eye for an eye.

He referred to it as a New Testament.

One energy will produce more of itself, just like two similar turning forks will respond to each other.

Love will bring love.

This is what Christ tried to bring.

Compassion breeds compassion.

Be rebellious and choose to love your imagined enemies for they are not the enemy, they are part of humanity, one of us.

The energy of Fear is the true enemy.

Go ahead and love it to death.

Don’t let yourself be lured away.

Through the Mist

Morning Meds; 6 14 19

Sometimes our meditation seems to take us to the imagined boundaries of duality.

We can look past the mist and see that there is a homeland, where we are no longer divided.

There isn’t any, in us or out of us, there is only us.

We keep redefining our boundaries until we finally see that they have never really existed.

The beliefs we have used to contain ourselves are slowly discarded, the same way a child out grows their clothing.

We finally can stand naked and unafraid in the energy of unconditional love.

At some point we will believe our way through the mist.

My Guardian Buzzard

Morning Meds. 6 13 19

I somehow have the Turkey Buzzard as a totem, would not have been my first choice, but they are an awesome bird.

I drive thirty-five miles to work. Twenty miles of it is a state two lane and the other fifteen is a county two lane.

I am on my way home I see a buzzard parked in my lane.

I was running about sixty mph, so I slowed down expecting him to fly.

I ended up having to slow to about 10 to 15 mph before he finally took off.

I didn’t see anything on the road for it to eat.

I think, well that’s different and cool and I toss up a thank you.

I thought it might be important.

When I got onto the better state highway and was running about sixty-five, I saw the car in front of me slam on its brakes and head onto shoulder. I start braking, while an oncoming semi swerves onto the opposite shoulder to let someone who was passing get clear of the car ahead of me.

Everyone missed each other thankfully.

There’s a good chance that if I hadn’t slowed down for the buzzard, I would have been ahead of the car that swerved onto the shoulder.

I had to ask myself, I wonder if the buzzard blocking my path kept me out of a bad wreck.

I think it did.

The universe conspires to help us.
